Hutong love @ The Orchid, Beijing

Time flies again as usual. Today, I would like to share with you a loving and charming moment at The Orchid Gulou, Beijing. Hutong love and cat-inspired dream drove me there. I did not meet The Orchid’s cat, though.

I find The Orchid as a hidden charming oasis where my souls were pampered to stay calm and be happy. At The Orchid, you could possibly meet the very helpful and friendly staff and welcoming owner who speak very good English as a default. I treasure this as the super nice treat in Beijing.
I stayed at The Lookout Room and was thrilled to see the welcoming fruits. Organic Toiletries and rainforest shower made me scream quietly. You will have air purifier inside the room too. The downside was only the internet connection after midnight which was not possible and too soft bed.

All in all, I find The Orchid beautiful for my souls and I am impressed with its historic location, the serenity and its hotel staff. Hearty breakfast was just lovely. Hotel staff went extra miles to communicate in Chinese with a taxi driver about my destination and I am so grateful for this.

For polluted Beijing, this place is a real gem. You can feel the Hutong’s life, indie way. The Orchid, a place where you can speak English and you have people who will understand your needs ( more than any other Beijing’s taxi drivers who have no clue about the simple English word like ” airport “. Hilarious, but true. I also do not know the basic Chinese word for “airport”.

Good luck in Beijing ! I believe when snow falling, Beijing will be so beautiful to compensate for all the difficulties you may feel with Beijing ‘s taxi drivers 🙂
